We came from New Zealand looking for a trekking experience with fewer crowds and chose Choquequirao. The trek was hard but absolutely worth the effort. The guide was experienced and very encouraging, especially on the steep climbs. The organization of meals, transport, and daily logistics was excellent. Seeing the ruins surrounded by mountains and almost no crowds was one of the highlights of our entire Peru trip.
